Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority Office
The Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA)
supports statewide law enforcement through auto theft reduction
initiatives, education and public awareness.
The ABTPA has awarded 485 theft prevention grants to cities, counties
and regions around the state since 1991. In that time, auto theft in
Texas has decreased by 61 percent (per 100,000 registered vehicles).
ABTPA is overseen by a Board of Directors. The Office's director is Charles Caldwell.
