Multi-Year Token Trailer Fleet Registration

Multi-Year Token Trailer Fleet Registration is an online program for registering fleets of token trailers in Texas, making it convenient for business owners to keep their trailer registrations current.

Token Trailer Fleet Registration Requirements

• An account user name and password must be established in the TxIRP online system.
• Semitrailers must have a gross weight in excess of 6,000 pounds to qualify for Token Trailer registration.
• One or more token trailers may comprise a single fleet.
• A token trailer fleet may be created at any time with either new token trailers or those currently registered in Texas.
• Token trailer fleet license plates are valid only when displayed on semitrailers pulled by trucks or truck-tractors with a manufacturer's rated carrying capacity in excess of one ton, and which are properly registered with Combination, Apportioned, Forestry, or a Seasonal Permit license plate.
• A copy of the license receipt must be carried in the truck, truck-tractor or in the trailer, if applicable, as proof of current registration.

Token trailer fleet owners can select a registration period of not less than one year and not more than five years. Registration fees, including an annual $15 token trailer plate fee, and all applicable fees, will be collected for the entire registration period selected at the time of initial registration.

License Plates

A key benefit of the program is that a "non-expiring" license plate is issued for these token trailers (no expiration month/year on the plate and no validation stickers issued for renewal). This eliminates the need to locate the trailers each year to affix new plates or stickers. The license receipt is the proof of current registration.
