Public Awareness Award Nomination
The first-ever ABTPA Grantee Public Awareness Award will be given annually to a member of an ABTPA grant project who significantly surpassed their
stated public awareness goals during the previous grant year or created an innovative and successful initiative to raise awareness about vehicle crimes,
prevention of those crimes, and the Texas ABTPA.
Title: 2012 Grantee Public Awareness Award Nomination
Eligibility: Members of any current ABTPA grant program, other than the Reduce Auto Theft in Texas (RATT) program, are eligible for this award.
Nomination Procedures: Nominations must be submitted in essay form (one page/500 words or less) to the ABTPA office in Austin by the date required on the award announcement memo sent to task forces. Only one nomination can be made annually from each current ABTPA grant program, and any member of a grant program may make the submission. The nominations will include the following:
- Specific details regarding the stated public awareness goals and the margin by which they were surpassed.
- Specific details regarding why a public awareness activity was unique and how it was successful.
- A description of why the surpassing of goals or the creation of the unique public awareness concept that raised awareness about vehicle crimes, theft prevention, and ABTPA ("Watch Your Car") in the task force program area.
Entry forms are due into the ABTPA office by April 20, 2012. Members of the ABTPA Grantee Advisory Committee will review all award submissions and
determine the top three most qualified nominees. From the top three determinations, the ABTPA Public Awareness Coordinator and Director will
determine a winner. The winners will be announced at the 2012 Annual Summit in June during the opening ceremony. For the full selection criteria
